“De Markies” (The Awning) by the Dutch architect Eduard Böhtlingk was an entry in the “Temporary Living” competition 1985 and was conceived as a mobile home. On the road, it measures 2.00 m by 4.50 m, and once it has arrived at its destination its floor space can be increased threefold in a matter of seconds. “De Markies” was awarded the Public Prize at the Rotterdam Design Prize 1996. All the winning projects of that “Temporary Living” competition can be seen in the city of Almere, The Netherlands, street called Realiteit (= “Reality”). See for this project “De Markies” (The Awning) the following: http://www.bohtlingk.nl/index.php/en/projects/mobiles/53.html It is project nr. 25 on the following webpage: http://www.architectureguide.nl/project/list_projects_of_city/cit_id/12/prj_id/874
Thank you! Do you know if it ever went into production? I couldn’t tell from either of those sites.

Neat camper
I want this SO BAD! Tim Shangle
This totally the coolest camper I’ve ever seen. I would love to camp in this. This style camper does present a question. Would the campers have to lease two camp sites?
Now this is one clever addition to any home!
